This is a direct replacement for the IDLER PULLEY/WHEEL, not the TENSIONER PULLEY for the 5.9 Dodge Durango 5.7 liter. Easy to replace on the Durange. The bearing squeal is gone. Over 200k miles on the original. I hope this last just as long.

Didn't Work

Had to return this pulley. The bushing that goes through the bearing and holds it to the block rubbed on pulley. Bought new one from competitor with no problems there.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Idler Pulley:

There are two of these for my car. The difference is in the vehicle manufacture date, month and year. The one that was described to fit, did not.

Measure the diameter and width of your old one and compare them to these specs before ordering.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Idler Pulley:

The serpentine belt in my 2001 Ram shredded itself so I figured I would replace the pulleys at the same time. When I started the truck up, the squeal/chirping was horrendous. Put the old pulley (96,000 miles on it) back on and all was quiet again. This piece of junk is going back tomorrow. Only gave it one star because they won't let you give it ZERO.

Good OE style replacement, don't know if it will last as long as a Motorcraft or International but time will tell. Bearing is sealed and can be replaced.

This idler pully is not as robust as the original (which lasted 300,000 miles), but has sealed, permanently lubricated bearings and should be good for a few years at least. Price is right also. If your original idler pully has a dust cover, you don't have to use it with this replacement pulley.

The tensioner doesn't need to be ribbed dew to the pressure it puts on the belt. If it is install and or mounted right it wont cause any issues with your belt.
