This is a great pulley that replaced my OEM Honda Accord Pulley that was squeeking at startup. The OEM pulley has an NSK Japan bearing in it and this one has a NTN Canada bearing in it. Do your homework, NSK is the largest supplier of bearings in Japan with NTN a close second. The NTN bearing is just as good as the NSK at a fraction of the price. Car idles better and runs smoother now. 2006 Accord 2.4L

I was certain that this would fit the bill for my 2007 5.7L Tundra. It went in fairly easily, fixed the belt squeal and seemed fine. One year to the day and only 4000 miles the pulley started squealing again. The noise started on a trip to NY at Christmas and there was a lot of snow and cold weather which I thought might have contributed to the problem. Ultimately it is just a poorly manufactured part and I have already ordered an OEM part from Toyota to avoid this problem again.

I ordered these and found out they were the wrong part. Probably my fault in choosing the part online. I took them to my local store and had absolutely no issues exchanging them for the correct part. It was a very plesant experience.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Idler Pulley:

I am rebuilding a 99 XJR supercharged Jag, tricky and expensive. Pretty much everything is specific and expensive. After researching every part for availability and price I found this particular idler pulley ( OEM made of plastic with a bearing that is enclosed by the moulding and is not removable)The original has been superseded 3 times and the current one is available through the specialists for over $70 + shipping.
After being resigned to having to spend the money, I thought I would try the local store just in case. What a surprise! in stock , available, and saved heaps.
This is the exact same product as the OEM replacement

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Idler Pulley:

got this as a replacement as i have a 1000 mile trip in a few days and the stock smooth idler pulley was making strange noise, so lucky enough advance have one in stock as a replacement ,
this feels durable since its made out of metal
but the bearings we will see how long it was last
, the pulley is smaller than stock which caused the tension to be not at set point i will change it out once i got a oem replacement

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Idler Pulley:

When installing this pulley, when you remove the belt make sure to remove the upper idler pulley as well. There are 2 reasons for doing this and it is so simple to take off: #1 it will make the removal and reinstallation of the 3 bolts that hold the tensioner to the block so much easier #2 you should inspect the idler pulley to make sure it doesn't need to be replaced also, in my case both pulleys were original to the vehicle so if one went bad the other isn't far behind. When I tightened the pulley to the tensioner there was a little play that I didn't like so all I had to do was find a washer that was the same size as the flange on the bolt, don't worry the bolt is more than long enough and that took away any play that I was concerned about.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Idler Pulley:

This seems to be a quality built product but the pulley was slightly wider than the original. When installed on my 2000 F-150 4.6L the face of the pulley actually rubbed against the engine block. I had to shim the entire belt tensioner with washers to move the face of the pulley away from the block. Once this problem was solved the pulley functioned as expected.

I have part # 89016 for my 2001 Ford Expedition 4.6 lt. Is this the right idler pulley I need. I do not need the tensioner pulley, just the idler pulley above the tensioner? This pulley is smaller than the OEM pulley on the engine.
