An affordable replacement idler pulley. I'm not a big fan of plastic though. Last plastic pulley I used on a snowblower flew to pieces. Plastic seems out of place on this tough 25 year old Grand Marquis ... & it certainly feels foolish removing a metal pulley & replacing it with a plastic one. 177,310 miles on that metal pulley, & I only replaced it due to bearing noise - there was no play in it whatsoever! There's actually more play in this new pulley's bearing, but I've used NTN bearings in Jap motorcycles with excellent results. We'll see how it holds up. If either the bearing or plastic pulley fails, I can still install a new bearing in the old original metal pulley. I can't see that plastic lasting 25 years & 177K. Can't beat the price though, AND a BIG PLUS: it's actually MADE IN USA!

it was listed as an exact oem fit replacement for my 1992 ford 150 with a 351 v8
however it did not claer the idler tension arm until I ground down all the fins on one side
pretty bogus after I spent the cash for something that was supposed to bolt right on and then had to spend over an hour modifying the part
besides that the counter rep assured me it would fit on fast and easy after I questioned him about it
long drive home with a part desperatley needed that didn't fit right
to far away to return it that day
bad sales advise from the git go

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Idler Pulley:

I own a Isuzu Trooper 2.8 V6. After being assured that the part would bolt right on and fit with no extra hardware, I found that It did not fit. After finally getting it installed correctly with new hardware, I got about a 1/4 Mile down the road before the truck broke down due to the parts fins on the back not fitting correctly and rubbing against the truck. DO NOT buy unless this is the Exact part that comes off Your current engine. It does Not offer as a viable replacement for the metal version of the same part.

Had to grind down the backside to clear, also put a spacer on the front side to make it work with the factory bolt. Be sure to look at the area around the bearing and how it seats on the mount before buying.

The part works great, fits nice and snug, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I put her in and she fired right up, no problems what so ever. I love "Advanced Auto Parts". And if you have to get parts from here, always order online. The amount of time and money I have saved is substantial. Not to mention the coupon codes to save more money and get rebates. Lol, i'll never go in person again, no point when you can get the parts pretty much half off through the website. On average i save about $65.00. Always oreder online.
