Hose was a replacement for an 18 year old one on my 2500 series pickup. It was replaced along with the water pump, top hose and the intake manifold to water pump short hose. Be sure to carefully remove the support spring by turning the spring (to get it to collapse) as you pull it out otherwise you will stretch the spring and make it very difficult to reinstall in the new hose. To get the hose spring reinstalled tie a wire or strong string to the spring and pull it through the new hose. It can be made easier by wetting the inside or the hose and spring with a soap solution.

Changed as part of water pump replacement

Lower radiator hose did not contain a collapse spring so I decided to continue using my existing hose and keep the new one as an emergency spare.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Curved Radiator Hose:

Fit perfect on my 98 Ram 1500 5.9L. No internal hose spring which I'm not a fan of but figure the factory puts those in to prevent collapse. We'll see how it does since I just replaced with the radiator. The original hose (from 1998) was not leaking or poor appearing so only the test of time will tell.
