Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Curved Radiator Hose:

This hose may be inaccurately described as a radiator hose.
It is actually a U shaped hose that leaves the water pump and directs the water pressure to the cabin heater. It is not the L shaped 90 degree bypass hose. You may have to buy a Ford 90 and cut it to fit, or look elsewhere for the bypass hose.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Curved Radiator Hose:

My only gripe is the product decription. This is a heater hose. 5/8" diameter. Not a radiator hose! It goes from the water pump to the intake/ metal pipe, nowhere near the radiator! Only relation to radiator hose is they both have coolant in them. I'd be ok with calling it a coolant hose, but that's very vague and doesn't help at all with identifing what part it is. (upper, lower, left, right, etc..)

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Curved Radiator Hose:

Perfect replacement for the two heater hoses in the back of the vehicle (rear A/C heater). That area is exposed under the car, and the hose clamps rust through and the hoses aren't worth re-clamping. Even though the description says it is for the passenger side, they are a perfect fit for the driver-side hoses in the rear of the car.
You will lose about a pint of antifreeze when the old hose is removed, so have a big bucket or tote tub ready. Make a razor-blade cut on the old hose on each end to help pry it off the metal lines. You can have the hoses replaced in about 15 minutes if you know the process.

Thank goodness they had this little pre-formed hose. Using regular, buy it by the foot hose, will kink at the 90 degree turn point. No matter how long of a piece you use, trust me.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Curved Radiator Hose:

the hose worked out without any problems. But purchasing the hose online and picking it up in store was not easy. Online it read that it was availible and let me purchase it, but when I got to the store they told me that they didn,t have any and had to order it. This delayed the repair of the car and the return of it to the owner by 24 hours.

Is this the hose that goes from the tube on the water pump to the metal tube that mates to another hose that goes to the heater core?

                  A:

Hi Raiderrouser, glad to help you! The CARQUEST by Dayco Curved Radiator Hose (Part No. A71877) is a lower radiator hose. The lower radiator hose is secured to the water pump in the same manner used to secure the hose to the radiator. Loosen the screw on the clamp and pull the hose off of the water pump. To get more specific information on the location of this part I would recommend purchasing a Chilton or Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle, Not only will it show the location and also explain how to install, but you'll find it handy for other projects on your vehicle. Haynes Chevrolet Silverado/Pickup '99-'06 Repair Manual (Part No. 24066).

Hi Cliff! Since you didn't mention the specific vehicle, it's hard to tell for sure. To give you the correct information I would need the year, make, model and engine size of the vehicle.
