Dayco No Slack Automatic Belt Tensioners are specifically built to outperform and outlast competitive OE parts. Each component is built to resist rust, endure the toughest of conditions while promoting quieter performance and longer life.

Product Features:
  • Manufactured with a specially coated patented flat wire spring to allow the internal tension to be concentric, thus providing a more even degree of constant tension
  • The patented Deflected Arm Plate dampens arm movement, prolonging the life of the tensioner by limiting the amount of rotational movement
  • The heavy duty cast aluminum spring case resists cracking and fatigue
  • This tensioner is another Dayco product proudly made in the USA

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Belt Tensioner:

I had some ridiculously loud noise coming from the front of the engine on my expedition. Suspected power steering so I changed fluid in hopes of an easy fix. When there was no difference I suspected it to be the serpentine belt tensioner, the pulley to be specific. Figured if i was going to change that I might as well change the idler pulleys and belt at the same time. The tensioner appeared to be of solid build quality and pulley was tight and smooth. After changing everything the engine once again purrs. The wife is happy because people no longer watch her pull in to places.

Installed easily, tensions the belt just like its supposed to. Not much else to say. Check back with me in 10years and I'll let you know if it held up better than the OEM unit.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Belt Tensioner:

I replaced the tensioner and 2 idler pulleys that were making noise at ~1800 rpm. Picked up 1-2 mpg after installation. The instructions state there is an alignment pin on the engine, not on my application which made installing it a little more difficult when starting the first bolt.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Belt Tensioner:

After 100,000 mi. It was time for a serp. belt change-out. It's always a good idea to replace the tensioner when doing the belt. This was a great deal after the 50% off rebate w/ purchase of belt from Dayco. Ordered it online from Advance and picked up at local store. Also rented the tool to remove tensioner from Advance, and it made the job easy. Took me about an hour and saved me around 100.00 bucks by doing it myself. If your somewhat of a shadetree mechanic as I am you'll find this job to be a snap.

If you can remove and replace the serpentine belt, changing the tensioner is really pretty simple. This tensioner replaced the original perfectly.

For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.
