Dayco No Slack Automatic Belt Tensioners are specifically built to outperform and outlast competitive OE parts. The heavy duty cast aluminum spring case resists cracking and fatigue. Each component is built to resist rust, endure the toughest of conditions while promoting quieter performance and longer life.

Product Features:
  • Manufactured with a specially coated patented flat wire spring to allow the internal tension to be concentric, thus providing a more even degree of constant tension
  • Contains a metallic locator pin built to withstand extreme drive demands and properly locate the tensioner for installation
  • The patented Deflected Arm Plate dampens arm movement, prolonging the life of the tensioner by limiting the amount of rotational movement
  • This tensioner is another Dayco product proudly made in the USA

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Belt Tensioner:

Had a large "clanking" sound coming from my old tensioner (I assume the spring was out). Bout a new one and it bolted right in to fix the problem in about 45 minutes.

            • Q:

Is the Belt Tensioner hard to replace and does it require any special tools for my ford f-150. Also would this be the cause of a rattling noise when the truck is idling, the noise appears to be coming from here or the alternator but it is difficult to tell for sure. Is there any way to tell for sure?

                A:

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
