Dayco No Slack Automatic Belt Tensioners are specifically built to outperform and outlast competitive OE parts. The heavy duty cast aluminum spring case resists cracking and fatigue. Each component is built to resist rust, endure the toughest of conditions while promoting quieter performance and longer life.

Product Features:
  • Manufactured with a specially coated patented flat wire spring to allow the internal tension to be concentric, thus providing a more even degree of constant tension
  • The patented Deflected Arm Plate dampens arm movement, prolonging the life of the tensioner by limiting the amount of rotational movement
  • Contains a metallic locator pin built to withstand extreme drive demands and properly locate the tensioner for installation
  • Dayco's patented Nylon Pivot Bushing keeps internal components in constant contact to maintain proper tensioner alignment

      • Q:

The dayco tensioner I purchased did not contain a replacement bolt for installing the new tensioner. Should you reuse the original OEM bolt to bolt the dayco tensioner to the engine. It does not slide into and bolt wihin the tensioner like it did for the OEM orignal. When I tried using it the bolt head sits outside and atop the new tensioner, I am assuming that as long as it does not touch the black area of the new tensioner this should be ok or I thought so. The tensioner when installed with the OEM bolt did not seem to have any spring to it.

I'm happy to help, Bill! Dayco indicates that you will need to reuse the bolt that you removed from your original part. Dayco's installation instructions are provided here: http://www.daycoproducts.com/dpdata/images/IS247.PDF

Hi Rob, great question! The tensioner mounting bolt on your Ford Mustang is a T55 torx bit head with the standard thread bolt.
