99 Saturn sc2. It's been about 6 months and no problems with the part at all, but the install was a bit tricky I must admit. Best bet is to take off the passenger wheel & shroud so you can get at the tensioner bolt from above or below the engine compartment. Thin, ratcheting wrenches with a slightly crushed cheater pipe really do wonders in helping you sneak in the tight space but it's not impossible, hardest part is prying back the tensioner while trying to get the belt to slide on.

i have a 2001 saturn sl2 1.9 dohc. my belt tensioner is only a year old, the spring in it is too soft, while in drive or reverse with a.c. running, sometimes in park it does it too. the tensioner rattles, real noisy, its been getting worse. they need to put a stiffer spring in them. i need to find one somewhere of better quality until then.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Belt Tensioner:

FOR ALL Saturn "S" series with A/C. This was the second replacement with a new belt and still rattling with the A/C on. Finally checked old part (OEM) against new and the diameters are different by 10mm. The GM OEM metal wheel is 100mm, the Dayco plastic wheel is 90mm. How did Dayco or Advance get this wrong??? Anyway, problem fixed with larger wheel.

Is tricky to install. Take front right side (passenger) tire off, make the job a whole lot easier. Recommend replacing the belt at the same time.

Comments about CARQUEST by Dayco Belt Tensioner:

Customers with problems of rattling tensioner. The 505780 belt is too long. It seems alot of people have same problem and think its the timming chain. A belt 5050775 which is half inch shorter should fix this issue. The 99+ saturns had a slight difference in accesory positions. So belt info is wrong.
