It looks like and fits like the original unit on my 1993 Corvette and the computer has stopped throwing an EGR code.On LT-engined Corvettes this unit is on the passenger side of the intake manifold below the MAP sensor and just above the fuel rail.Remove and replace took about 30 minutes.

Comments about BWD Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid:

This solenoid is located behind the intake air plenum and is not easy to get to, but it can be done without removing a bunch of parts.

We found that switching out the part was easy with the hoses and wiring easily identified and relocated from the old part to the new part.

After we found the location and installed the part the engines trouble code was able to be reset and has not come back on since the replacement of the solenoid.

When replacing this part it's important to check the vacuum lines to ensure that they are in good condition or the new part may not operate correctly.

Comments about BWD Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid:

Part was hard to install. If you need to find it on a 1996 Chevy Cavalier,2.2L, Its located at the rear of engine, below throttle body assembly next to block. Need to pry locking tab down that holds solenoid in place on bracket. Hard to get to and reach. Remove 2 vacuum hoses and electrical connector first, pry tab down and solenoid slides off to the right. Its a pain but with a little patience it can be done.

There are 2 valves coming off the purge 1994 LT1...only the top fitting had a vacuum line on it. Is that correct? If not where does the bottom fitting attach to? I bought this engine used and have had some "issues" w the LT1 platform. Thank you!!!!

                A:

I'm happy to help, Ed! The vapor canister purge solenoid is located on a mounting bracket on the side of the engine closest to the firewall (cabin) of the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am 3.4L V6. The bracket is above the spark plugs on the cylinder head. For detailed replacement instructions, I suggest purchasing a repair manual, such as Haynes Part No. 38026, for your vehicle. A repair manual will help you with this and many other projects on your vehicle.

Hi Albert, happy to help! The canister purge solenoid on your Buick LeSabre should be located under the hood. by the plug wires, and has a tube going to it and then one going to the intake manifold. The evaporator canister should be located under the air cleaner housing, under the hood of the front driver's side.
