Only the 1/4 solenoid was bad, but I replaced both solenoids since I was pulling the pan. I felt the original equipment delphi would have worked fine, but since it was not in stock I used this one.

I replaced both solenoids on a 2001 chevy blazer. Once the pan is dropped, these are simple to replace, only requiring several minutes. I did a filter change as well. Electrical plugs fit perfectly.

                    • Q:

i was wondering if these solinoids are also called the Torque converter clutch solinoids (TCC PWM). I have a 2005 Chevy avalanche 5.3Liter 4wd and getting a code P0741 (Torque converter clutch solinoid circuit. With everything I am reading sounds like the TCC pwm soliniod is bad. if these are not what they call the TCC pwm solinoid, then if someone could tell me where it is on the tranny. Can you get to it externally of do I have to drop the pan. Thx for answers in advance

I'm glad to help you! These #S9871 are shift solenoids, not the Torque converter clutch solenoids (TCC PWM). They are internal to the transmission. The part number for the TCC PWM Solenoid is #S9849. It is also located in the valve body area.
