Hi Matt! Since you didn't mention the specific vehicle, it's hard to tell for sure. To give you the correct information I would need the year, make, model and engine size of the vehicle.

  • Q:

what does this part control on the transmission
    Asked on 2/25/2012 by Anonymous

    1 answer

The Transmission Control solenoid receives electronic signals from sensors placed at various points on the engine. These signals, generated from vehicle and engine speed, cause the solenoid to open and close hydraulic valves inside the transmission to shift the gears.
For compatibility of this part with your vehicle, please provide your vehicle make, model and engine specification.

will this item make torque converter lock up

This could possibly be the problem. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer.
