Q:how do i install a map sensor in a 1995 dodge ram 1500 4x4
A:I'm happy to help! Your MAP sensor is located in the front of the throttle body on the 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. I would recommend a repair manual for specific instructions for your vehicle for replacement of the MAP sensor, Haynes Part No. 30041. This will also help you with many other repairs you may do on your truck. I also found a link of how to do this job on a 1998 Dakota with the 5.2L which should be a similar job. Q:where is the map sensor located on a 94 dodge 250 ram van with a 318
A:In a 1994 Dodge Ram 2500 318 truck the MAP Sensor (BWD MAP Sensor - Part No. EC1629P) is usually located on the intake manifold, on the front of the top of the engine. Q:all the simptoms are the same however it tells me that this sensor does not match my vehicle, so, what do i look for then??
A:In order for us to further assist you would you please provide us with the year, make, model, and engine size of your application?
Q:what does this sensor do
A:The manifold absolute pressure sensor provides instantaneous manifold pressure information to the engine's electronic control unit (ECU). The data is used to calculate air density and determine the engine's air mass flow rate, which in turn determines the required fuel metering for optimum combustion.
Q:how do i know if the map sensor is bad?
A:Some signs that your MAP sensor is bad include surging, rough idle, rich fuel condition which can cause spark plug fouling, detonation, loss of power, poor fuel economy.
