Replaced OEM coils which was causing the battery light to come on and hesitation when initially cranked (before the engine was warm). Suggestion: If one coil goes out, replace them all and all spark plugs at the same time. This will save a lot of hassle and anoyances.

Kind of pointless to review an electrical item just a week after installing it. Time will tell the tale of whether or not this was worth it.

For now, the P0301 code & surging/bucking is gone in a '00 Taurus 3.0 Duratec. Replaced the spark plug too while I was in there.

Was able to get the #1 (rear bank, passenger side) coil and plug out without yanking the upper intake manifold, which was nice.

The part worked, but one week in is no show of quality. I'll add stars in a few years, if possible.

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Ignition Coil:

Had been getting engine codes on used vehicle purchase and tried various corrections - wires to coils were shorting to valve cover and wiring replace but still got error codes as to Cyl 5, replaced ignition coil on center/front cylinder (although uncertain it was Cyl 5) and the error codes did not come back - shorts in wiring may have injured the coil or it just wore out - either way problem appears to have been solved

Good question, Shorty! It depends upon the skill level of the person performing the operation. For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.

I believe the firing order for a 2000 Ford Taurus 3.0 liter V-6 DOHC VIN "S" is: 1, 4, 2, 5, 3, 6. When facing the front of the vehicle cylinder no. 6 is the farthest from the front on the driver (right) side, closest to the firewall. However with out the presence of your vehicle we cannot provide you with a 100% answer.

firing order for the v-6 is as followed according to the haynes repair manual 1-4-2-5-3-6. the odd #'s are in the back of the intake manafold and are difficult to get too. plan on spending some time taking your engine apart. the even #'s are in the front and are easy to get to and change.
