Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Fuel Injector:

exact replacement. the old one came right out. so far the truck is running smoothly and hasn't given me any problems after about 6 weeks of use. only precaution I would mention is that once this is installed in the lower intake, it's not coming back out. if for any reason you want to remove the new injector assembly, the lower intake will have to be removed. you only have one shot to get this right!

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Fuel Injector:

Was getting several codes P0172 Bank 1 system too rich, P0175 Bank 2 system too rich, P0300 Random Multiple Misfire.
After much reading and internet search, found the old one was bleeding fuel into the manifold and causing many problems.
Install was not very difficult (again thanks to an online video). Unplug half a dozen things, about 12 screws and it was easy to get the job done.
The replacement is different looking then the original and doesn't have individual locking tabs.

I installed this set as a result of changing out my intake gasket due to antifreeze leak. Included instructions made this job fairly easy. With 160k miles, I thought it best to go ahead and put in the new injectors. I achieved very small performance increase.

ok so i boughtthis online to pick up on store, and the set they gave me in the store was defective(it wouldnt keep gas pressure some how it was going thru the return line) so i took it back to the store and they replace it with out questioning(GREAT COSTUMER SERVICE)..so i took my second pair and started instlling it, once it was install i checked the fuel pressure it went all the way to 60 psi,so from that point on i knew it was ready to roll.. this fuel injector was a replacement due to the oem finally giving up. the truck was idling terrible and fuel economy nosedived due to the injector dumping gas into the engine. once this new one was installed it runs like new again. haven't ran through a whole tank of gas yet so i don't know how much the mileage increased, but it had to have.

                        A:

Hi Mike, happy to help you! Here is the instructions to remove the fuel injector. Remove any accessories from the top of the engine that might interfere with the removal of the fuel injector like engine cover, accessory brackets or air cleaner assembly components. Use a wrench or ratchet and socket as needed. Unplug the wiring harness from the fuel injector you want to remove. Press the lock tab on the connector and pull the plastic connector off the injector. Locate the mounting screws of the fuel rail with the injector you need to remove and unfasten the bolts using a ratchet, ratchet extension and socket. Carefully lift the fuel rail as you pull the injectors from the intake manifold. Place clean shop rags on top of the intake injector openings to prevent contamination or small objects from falling inside the manifold. Detach the injector you want to replace from the fuel rail. Depending on your particular model, the injector might be attached with a screw or pressed fit into the fuel rail. Use a wrench or ratchet and socket if necessary.

Hi Mike, tricky question! If the plug sucks in more air than usual in the combustion process it can cause the vehicle to jerk and then slow down or continually start and stop, which means the vehicles engine is working inefficiently. This is also known as engine hesitation. However, the answer to this is perhaps more complicated than you think. This needs a mechanic's expertise to determine. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

                      • A:

If you mean it's sucking air (vacuum leak) at the injector electrical connector plug then the o-ring around the top of the "spider" didn't seat correctly. This is pretty common. You need to take the upper intake off again. Inspect the o-ring and replace it if it's damaged. When you re-install make sure to lube the o-ring and the part of the intake where it pushes through with clean motor oil. It should slip right in when you tighten the upper intake bolts. The truck should run smoother when you're done.
