Q:Where is the crankshaft position sensor on an 08 Chrysler Sebring?
A:Hi there Adam! Happy to help with your question! The camshaft position sensor fits into the side of the engine near the oil cap along the top of the timing chain cover, look for a 3 pin connector. When the connector is disconnected put a few drops of WD-40 to the seal, twist and the old sensor should come out. For the new sensor put a few drops on the o-ring seal and push it in, bolt it down and plug back up the connector. Or you can have a certified mechanic do the job if you are not able to. When dealing with electronic parts be very careful.
Q:How do you calibrate this sensor once it is installed? Will the car start up right away after installation? Thanks!
A:I'm glad to help, Ben! You don't necessarily need to calibrate the sensor after installation. You may need to reset your crankshaft adaptation in your PCM/ECM. For many vehicles having the negative battery cable off for 30 minutes or more will accomplish this task. This will probably happen during the installation of the part because when any electronic component is replaced, the negative cable should be disconnected.
Q:where is it located on the 08 dodge caliber
A:This part BWD Crankshaft Sensor, Part No. CSS1684 is an Exact fit for your 2008 Dodge Caliber. The crankshaft position sensor should be mounted, to the rear of the engine block near the transmission.
