Mine of course went out in the first cold week of winter and my wife was not happy driving to work in the cold. But I was very happy with this product. It may not look like the original part out of the box but it works just as well. The only down side is you have to splice the wires for the new clip going into the unit. The only suggestion I would have to someone installing is make sure the connector is toward the front and not the back. If the connector is toward the back you don't get very much length for the wires going to the blower and makes for a tight fit.

Cord is not long enough

Cord that connects the blower is NOT long enough on a 2003 envoy. Had to splice and extend it.

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

installed this in a 2005 trailblazer LT with the auto climate control, the old one fried and the blower would not shut off and lost the blower speed adjustment

installing the module itself was eazy but the wireing harness had to be modifyed, the wires leading to the blower moter were too short so i had to reuse the factory one, cutting it off and added it with one that came the module

dont know about the durability its only been installed for 24 hours but it does come with the 3 year warrenty

I will be going tomorrow to get my 3rd resistor in a year. 1st one lasted a year, next lasted a week. This is a vehicle that I only use for about 5k miles per year. Last resistor didn't have 10 miles on it!

Fairly easy to install. Had to cut off the old three wire plug-in and splice wires. Works good.
Got it for good price with online discount code of 35% off. I don't understand why GM doesn't make an OEM replacement for this part.

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

Besides the listed Cons, to make the piece work in my Bravada I had to grind a bit off one of the end tabs to allow it to fit tight to the housing. If the outside temperature wasn't going to be below zero I would have looked for another option.

                      2004 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Z71 Z series VIN

is it possible for a brand new one of these to work for a few days and then go bad? I replaced both the resistor and blower at the same time and the blower stopped working again and then started to only work intermittedly and now it stays on while the keys are NOT in it. have to pull the blower fuse under the hood to get it to turn off. Is this due to the extreme cold weather-5 degrees to 10 degrees the past few weeks? Additionally,it was louder and blew air faster than the OEM. Is there anything else that could be causing this issue?

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.
