After some researching as to which aftermarket replacement part would be the best replacement and having first purchased the ACDELCO PN-15-8107 and it not fitting, I took it back and went with the Dorman PN.RU1264. This one fits perfectly.

The original one that came with my truck has a adapter which allowed it to screw into place. This one did not need the adapter and was a perfect fit as is. Now all fan speeds are working again.

Tools needed are a 7mm - 1/4" socket,a 7/32" - 1/4" socket, and a small flat tipped screw driver which comes in handy when releasing the wiring harness connectors. You also might need a 1"long extension wrench for those sockets unless they are deep socket. Also you need some good lighting.
Hardest part was removing the screws that held the Blower motor and vent cover. I only removed the first three starting from the passenger side door and loosened up the 4th last screw since its the hardest to get to. Then swing the cover around towards you which then gives you plenty of room to see what your doing and work

The store parts guy was very helpful with this.
Although I would have liked to have bought the ACDELCO those are usually not in stock and the Dorman has a life time warranty were as the ACDELCO dose not! Go Figure!

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

This was a perfect fit for my 04 Suburban 1500 LS 4x2. Was a little pricey but it fixed the issue with fan not blowing on lower settings. For now everything is great. Will have to wait to see how long it lasts. OEM part lasted 12 yearts so if I can get a half that it will be well worth it.

If this part stopped working on your truck you may
need to buy the wireing pigtail that melts on the wiring harness that plugs into this part. A very comon problem with these trucks. You have to cut your wiring harness and splice the wires. You can get the harness here at Advance

Installed this in my 04 chevy 2500, they don't make a direct replacement for your failed resistor which I found out when I purchase the first unit. You will have to splice the supplied harness into you factory wires. The reason I went with this unit is that the harness is included and color coded, were as the first one I bought didn't have the harness (you have to buy that seperate) and the harness that is sold seperatly isn't color coded like this one.

Product looked well built..difference in part numbers are the mounting holes. With mine I didnt have to use the adaptive bracket from the original part. This unit already comes pre fab to fit.

Works great in my 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 5.3L. Better design than the original which had the flat computer chip looking thing which did last 130,000 miles. Easy to remove and even easier to install. I have just two mounting screws but if you move it around a little two of the four holes will line up and it will install perfectly. The BMR is located under the glove box to the right of the cabin air filter.

Hi Bob! Since you didn't mention the specific vehicle, it's hard to tell for sure. To give you the correct information I would need the year, make, model and engine size of the vehicle.
