Moderate work. 2000 Ford Excursion, pretty hard to get to with big hands. Get a 5/16 ratchet wrench from Sears. Took about 1hr. to get off. Guarantee you will break the harness! It was dry, brittle and rusted on. However, got new harness, and only used the clip +1 wire. It was rusted, all the other old wires were fine. Make sure you align wires back to original locations!!!. So spliced one wire, connected them back in clip and put in! Works like a champ!!! 3- 4 hrs of careful work from an elementary school teacher!!

Product is well made. Easy to install with the right tools. Make sure you replace the wiring harness when changing out this part. Heat from years of use makes these parts brittle and the wiring stiff.

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

This product fixed my blower motor only having the high setting, the lowest fan on the middle two settings, and fan off for the lowest setting. After installation the blower motor functions as it should again. The hardest part of this installation is getting the old one off. The connections are very rusty, so make sure you have some wd40 to help make connection to the wiring harness. This install took me 30 minutes start to finish including putting tools away. My application was on a v10 gas f250.

I also had to change the connector on my 99 e150, so keep that in mind. However after changing both the resistor and the connector I have all 4 speeds back on my blower motor.

The blower motor resistor on your 2003 Ford Ecoline Van should be located on the blower housing besides the blower motor.
