Worked 2 days only

Easy replacement. Fit close enough. Stopped working after couple days. Removed reinstalled. No luck. Will return to store for testing or replacement. Connector looked okay so thinking part is defective.

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

I am a 59 year old woman, and I had no problem installing this myself. It was a little difficult getting the old piece out but once I figured out how to disconnect it, the rest was simple. My blower fan only worked on speeds 3 and 4 (not 1 and 2). This corrected the problem. To see how to install this product, there are few good youtube videos that I watched. Tools needed were just a 8mm socket to get the bolts out. Its a tight space so just take your time. The old piece slides right out and the new one was a perfect fit.

Diect fit to factory part. Appears to be equivalent quality. Simply installation with two bolts and an electrical plug. Took only about 10 minutes to install in my Ford Escape. Have all blower speed function oncd again!

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

This part corrected the HVAC Blower issue of running only on high, and off on all other settings. It was an exact replacement for the OEM part. Easy to change; located right behind the glove box. Remove the wiring harness from the top, and two 8mm screws and lift right out. Lifetime warranty a plus if it decides to go out again, which seems to be a common problem.

                  A:

Hi David, glad to assist you! This blower motor resistor should be located towards the right center behind the dash, to the left of the blower motor on the hvac housing. For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes or Chilton repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts. Haynes Ford F-Series/Expedition Repair Manual (Part No. 36059).

Hi Bruce, happy to assist you! The blower motor resistor can be accessed from under the right hand side of the instrument panel. Disconnect the blower motor resistor, electrical connector and remove the screws. Then remove the blower motor resistor. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

              • Q:

What are the normal resistance values for a blower motor resistor for a 2008 Ford Escape XLT V6? The blower runs normally on fan speeds 1, 2 and 4. It also runs on fan speed 3 but, oddly, the actual blower speed is the same as 2. Using the right prong as the constant "black" (black wire hooks to it), the ohm readings to the other three prongs are very low. Numbering left to right, prong 1 is 2 ohms, prong 2 is 1 ohm and prong 3 is 1.2 ohms. I'm trying to figure out if the problem is in the blower resistor or the fan dial switch.

With reference to your inquiry on the BWD HVAC Blower Motor Resistor - Part No. RU1133 and replacing the blower motor resistor on your 2004 Ford Freestar you have to access the blower through the glove compartment. Open the compartment and press the tabs on the sides in the back of the compartment. If you look inside the bottom right you will see the blower motor and blower resistor mounted right next to it. Remove the three screws and the wire harness and replace the blower motor/resistor. A:

The Blower motor resistor in a 2005 Mustang GT is behind the panel under the glove box on the passenger side. It should be held in with several screws and it should be as simple as unscrewing, unplugging, and plugging the new one in. For any further assistance please feel free to call 1-877-238-2623 and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
