Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

The resister fix perfect and the correct holes where already drilled in place so I didn't have to drill out any extra holes.
My only issue is where Ford put this part at, it is in a very tight space under the glove compartment and it was somewhat difficult to get in and take out and replace with the new part.

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

I bought two of these. One was for a neighbor's 2008 Escape XLS and the other was for another neighbor's 2008 Escape XLT. The XLS one matched perfectly. The XLT didn't. I didn't compare the two so I don't know if Ford had the pilot "stubs" in a different spot or if the part had holes drilled out differently. For the XLT I needed to compare the old part to the new to see which holes needed to be drilled out. Only took a minute and the holes were marked, just not drilled. Drilled the two pilot holes and it fell into place and was an easy fix. Both vehicles now have a four blower motor speeds and I have two happier neighbors.

I had read some reviews that spoke of needed to drill the mounting holes. Not true on my 2008 Escape.
Behind the glove box. two bolts , in out and 15 minutes. Only issue was a little tricky getting the rear bolt back in without my small ratchet falling off. Other than that easy peazy.

My review is based on the install not the lifespan as I do not yet know the lifespan of this part.

Hi Bruce, happy to assist you! The blower motor resistor can be accessed from under the right hand side of the instrument panel. Disconnect the blower motor resistor, electrical connector and remove the screws. Then remove the blower motor resistor. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

                      • Q:

What are the normal resistance values for a blower motor resistor for a 2008 Ford Escape XLT V6? The blower runs normally on fan speeds 1, 2 and 4. It also runs on fan speed 3 but, oddly, the actual blower speed is the same as 2. Using the right prong as the constant "black" (black wire hooks to it), the ohm readings to the other three prongs are very low. Numbering left to right, prong 1 is 2 ohms, prong 2 is 1 ohm and prong 3 is 1.2 ohms. I'm trying to figure out if the problem is in the blower resistor or the fan dial switch.

The Blower motor resistor in a 2005 Mustang GT is behind the panel under the glove box on the passenger side. It should be held in with several screws and it should be as simple as unscrewing, unplugging, and plugging the new one in.
