the resistor pack was easy to install and cured the problem of no heater fan. the problem started out with only off and high working and I used that for a couple more months ubtill I lost high also. With winter comming up I needed my defrosters so I did some online research and foud this as being the most lickly problem. It took about 15 min and 3 tools and it was changed. I bought it online and found a discount code. I picked it up at a local store. I saved 5 bucks on a [$] item, Good Deal!

This part was the perfect fit for my 2004 mustang since the A/C & heater fan would only work on high speed. It took about 15 minutes to replace.

After ordering the part and getting it installed it worked like it should. my truck fan lost the two lower speeds and I didn't know what was wrong until I was talking to someone and they had the same issue. It is a pain to get a clear view of were it is located to even see the screws. Your kind of working blind.

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Blower Motor Resistor:

The part looked slightly different than the part removed because of the configuration of the resistors on the back but it fit fine and the fan now works.

The part I removed from the 1997 Ford F150 was so rusted it crumbled in my hand.

The most difficult part of the repair was finding the part location. The service manual I had purchased for the truck did a poor job of showing the location but fortunately in todays world there were You Tube videos showing the replacement. Once located and using a mirror to see up behind the blower ducts it was a simple replacement.

                        A:

The resistor should have burnt out. The blower speed switch switches in different resistors in series with the motor. More resistance, lower speed. "High" is no resistor in series, just the motor. The resistors are usually mounted together on a block, and usually stick through the blower housing into the airflow to cool the resistors.

Does the resistor work with the compressor. My 2003 Ford Escape 2.0L, has problems maintaining cold air. The air is cold some times and not at other times. I have had it checked out with my mechanic. Still after a few checks its seems to still be running wrongly. Could the resistor be the possible issue?
