I installed the first one alternator on a 2003 Honda Civic EX, and on the first startup, the battery light would not turn off. It just stayed on, even with a brand new battery, solid grounds, and new belts. I figured it must be a bad one, and swapped it out at my local Advanced. The second time, I had them bench test the alternator, and it passed their bench test (though there were some fluctuations on the printout). I installed the now second alternator in the car, and the battery light turned off! Voltage reads great, 14.2v at 2k rpm idle. I noticed later that night that the headlights would flicker depending on engine rpm though, and within 10 minutes of driving, the battery light started to flicker.... I checked the AC/Alternator belt, falls within Honda's spec of deflection along the top, so there is no belt slip. I drove around for another 15 or so minutes, and the alternator now has the battery light on at idle, and even when cruising. When I unplug the battery from the car as it's running, it cuts out immediately, and shuts down. I don't stand alone with these not working in Honda's, it's very common for these to fail, and apparently quality control is not something Worldwide has in it's vocabulary.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 70 Amps:

Thought I'd save some money and replace the part. It gave me intermittent problems but they kept telling me the part was fine. And it was, it simply was incompatible with my 2003 Civic. Ended up at the dealer, the power fluctuations ended up frying my ECU. At dealer prices I was lucky it was under warranty or I would have just sold the car and got a new model to avoid future trouble.
First sign of trouble get your car to a dealer or mechanic.

I previously had a napa Alt, and the battery light would occasionally come on and after a year the Alt would burn out. So far this one is performing better than the other ones i've had.

Bearings started making grinding noise 3 months after installation. It is extremely frustrating to have to replace the same part over and over again.

The alternator was a perfect match. Installation was a pain but that was not alternator's fault, it was car design that make install a pain.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 70 Amps:

I purchased this alterator and installed it. It was difficult to install but that is more because it is difficult to get to on the Honda Civic. I installed the alterator and the battery light went out and everything worked great for 3 days about 150 miles. Then when driving to work the next day my car just died. I had no idea what was wrong exept for the fact that I had a complete power failure so I had it towed. The shop said the alternator was bad. They took out the part exchanged it for another one with Advance Auto and now everything is working. I occured a bill for service and a tow because of a bad part. $225 worth of extra expenses because of a bad part.
