rebuilt alternator looks like it was carefully done and performs as if new with no apparent shortfalls....the only negative aspect of the alternator, which is a direct replacement for the original,is that the original has a double pulley and the rebuilt alternator came with a new - but-single groove pulley. that is not an unexpected situation, so exchanging the original double groove pulley, for the new single groove pulley, was not a problem, other than finding a larger than standard 'hex'-allen wrench, needed to swap pulleys...the vehicle is truely an antique-1978 ford oick up, that i use as everyday transportation, and important to be still reliable for i have numerous doctor visits every month..

A bit overpriced until applying coupon code. Wish the big parts suppliers would lower prices instead of forcing customers to search for current promo codes to save 30% by ordering online.

This is a direct replacement for a '66' Ford Galaxie 500 XL. Everything lined up like it should. Time will tell on the quality and Carquest as a rule has had good quality. However, Lifetime replacement is always a good thing.

In searching for a replacement alternator for my 65 Ford pickup I came across this item and at a reasonable price. Installed the alternator a few days ago and can not comment on durability at this time but so far it works fine.

I am using it on a 1968 F250 that I am restoring. It looks just like the original I took off, except for all the stickers.
Also the Alternator is listed at a smaller 42amp. on the description, then it says it's something else in the Description after opening the items full description. 60 amp. Please correct this because I HOPE it's 60 amp, because it's what is suppose to be on the truck.

Time to replace the entire light switch. There is no sequence to when a switch goes bad but the important thing to remember is that if the switch is going bad it's going to start acting weird with something, in your case the taillights and dash lights. You have to ask yourself this question: If the switch is going bad just exactly what do I do on the dark winding road I am traveling at55 MPH when the switch decides to go to the next level and cease providing power to your headlights?????? . Switches are mechanical and things mechanical wear out. Don't take a chance on the worst case scenario. Change the thing.
