Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 130 Amps:

This was a perfect match for a replacement. Ford motor company made it impossible to replace this without pulling the axle arm or cutting the frame to get the part to drop out. I made two small incisions in the frame and bent it out a little rather than remove the axle. Otherwise, not too bad to install.

No apparent problems, but this thing is a real pain to replace in the car. A mechanic certainly earns his pay for replacing this alternator...

Believe what everyone tells you about installing the alternator on the DOHC Ford. You have to pull the axle to get to the alternator. The hard part is getting the bolts out and removing the wiring on the alternator. It can be done in under 2 hours if you have the correct tools and experience. Plan to get dirty.

It was easy for me to install, but I'm a 2o year + Technician. Dropping the engine cradle on the passenger side is the only way to go. It's an alternator it's doing what it should.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 130 Amps:

It is a match for the original. It works well and charged my battery quickly to it's former full capacity. Like most items on today's modern cars, the alternator is buried at the back of the engine and very difficult to install. 130 amp alternators are heavy and this adds to the installatiion difficulty.

For help with your project, I recommend getting a repair manual specifically for your vehicle. It should be able to help you with detailed instructions on how to do many things.
