I wanted to get a better alternator (OEM or similar) but none was available in my area for instant pickup. So I picked this unit up from Advance and they even tested it for me before I left the store, even though the salesman said they are all tested before they leave the shop. Anyway, he tested it for me, it was good and I installed without a problem. It was a tight fit in my Odyssey, however. It took a couple hours. Instead of turning my OEM in for core, I am going to put new bearings and brushes in it and then bring it in for a test. It will make for a good spare in case the "new" cheaper one fails. Thanks for your good service Advance Auto!

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 130 Amps:

The alternator while not a OEM denso part worked as intended. It bolted up in the exact same format and utilized the original OEM bolts from the Acura MDX. The connections to the battery and the other plug are slightly moved so the wires are a little twisted however it didn't put any unnecessary strain on the wires and all the oem harness and clips still worked as expected.

Installation of the product in the MDX did require temporarily moving the power steering reservoir as well as the overflow tank for the radiator to give it extra room to take it out from the top

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 130 Amps:

The original alternator had to be replaced, and AAP had one of the best deals on the internet for this part, including special promotions. I liked that I was able to buy on-line and pick it up at the store, and hand it over to the mechanic for quick service. There was no problem with the installation - fits perfectly. Been in use for about two weeks now, and no issues so far. A full service repair shop would charge double or more for the part, so I was able to save a bit of cheddar.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 130 Amps:

Dealer wanted more than double the cost for a factory replacement alternator. However, it is too early to tell how good of a product this is. It worked out of the box as expected but has only been on the vehicle for two weeks. This was too difficult of an installation for me to do myself due to the tight fit in the engine compartment of my Honda Odyssey but the dealer was willing to install the part I purchased at AAP for the same labor charge as a factory replacment alternator so I went that route.
