Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 105 Amps:

After installing the first one, the battery light was still on. Went back to have it tested and the tester did not find an issue. I was able to talk the parts specialist in to letting me have another. After that installation, no battery light.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 105 Amps:

I was given this part specifically for a 2003 Honda Accord and had a repair place install it. Apparently, it was NOT a proper fit and needed some work-arounds to get it situated. Normally I would think this was the autoshop being deceptive, though I have done business with them many times before and have found them to be trustworthy. So far this alternator hasn't given me any problems, though since the alternator and battery are interlinked, if I lose one, I'll lose both and be out another $250 plus labor to fix my car. It was nice and cheap, though. Can't put a price on price.

The alternator works fine. The employee (Ryan I think his name was, might have been a manager) of the Addison Rd. store in Villa Park was very helpful and pleasant. No hassles, price was great with online coupon, I was in and out of the store and installing the alternator in minutes.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 105 Amps:

The only issue I had with the alternator was that one of the bolts that a wire bracket attaches to was too short and I could not reattach the bracket. It works without it but I thought I would point it out. This is the only reason I gave it four stars.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 105 Amps:

I was relatively confident that the alternator was remanufactured well within oem specs. It installed easily and is working fine. The price was MUCH better than an oem part. As always, the 'proof-in-the-pudding' of any re-man part is the long-term durability. The warranty of this alternator is a deciding factor. Also with Advance Auto Parts locations nationwide, there is the confidence that the part will be replaced if you are out of your hometown. I was suprised that the oem Honda part (that cost almost twice as much) came with a puny 1-year warranty! A solid replacement part, good price, good warranty, and very good counter service. Win + Win..!!

                • Q:

Had the battery and alternator tested at my local Advanced Auto Parts (2005 Honda Accord DX) and the results said the alternator was bad. Changed the alternator and charged the battery (battery is 1.5 years old). Took it back up to AAP and it was retested and OK. Next day the battery light came on. Took it back and the test stated there was NO charge from the alternator to the battery. Had the alternator bench tested and it was OK. There was heavy corrossion on the positive lead that was cleaned prior to installing new part and charged battery. Any ideas on problems? This alternator does not require a charge does it?

                    A:

No, the alternator does not require charging. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.

It sounds like the alternator or it could just be the battery.
