The alternator works fine. The employee (Ryan I think his name was, might have been a manager) of the Addison Rd. store in Villa Park was very helpful and pleasant. No hassles, price was great with online coupon, I was in and out of the store and installing the alternator in minutes.

I was given this part specifically for a 2003 Honda Accord and had a repair place install it. Apparently, it was NOT a proper fit and needed some work-arounds to get it situated. Normally I would think this was the autoshop being deceptive, though I have done business with them many times before and have found them to be trustworthy. So far this alternator hasn't given me any problems, though since the alternator and battery are interlinked, if I lose one, I'll lose both and be out another $250 plus labor to fix my car. It was nice and cheap, though. Can't put a price on price.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 105 Amps:

Just installed, it is a correct match unlike what other reviewers said. I checked the pulley before buying because of what someone said about getting one bent out of the box, mine was good.
Bottom line: easy to install (thanks Honda) and it works. Will see how long it holds up.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - Remanufactured - 105 Amps:

I purchased this in a hurry, at a decent price. Until I took the old one off and matched up the size and teeth, I did not notice the bent pulley. Looked like someone took a sledge hammer to one end of it. The exchange was bad because I had to drive double the distance if I wanted it exchanged that night... The exchanged pulley was fine, and it seems to be working. Just make sure it's what you want before leaving the store.

            • Q:

Had the battery and alternator tested at my local Advanced Auto Parts (2005 Honda Accord DX) and the results said the alternator was bad. Changed the alternator and charged the battery (battery is 1.5 years old). Took it back up to AAP and it was retested and OK. Next day the battery light came on. Took it back and the test stated there was NO charge from the alternator to the battery. Had the alternator bench tested and it was OK. There was heavy corrossion on the positive lead that was cleaned prior to installing new part and charged battery. Any ideas on problems? This alternator does not require a charge does it?

                A:

No, the alternator does not require charging. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.

It sounds like the alternator or it could just be the battery.
