Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - New - 130 Amps:

This was my second alternator. This alternator tested good at the store. I installed the unit and it operated for about half a day. I wanted to purchase a heavy duty alternator but was unable to do so because now I have no core as I have returned the first failed alternator. At this point I was not going to purchase the same alternator again and have the same results. I purchased another brand without paying a core charge. I installed this alternator and it has been working as intended. As a note I took my vehicle to a shop and had it checked on the chance something was causing the alternator failures. Nothing was detected what would cause an alternator failure. I returned the second alternator and my payment was refunded.

Comments about CARQUEST Alternator - New - 130 Amps:

Easy to replace with minimal tools and easy to get to. Had to remove pulley off OEM alternator and install on the new one. Had to get a jump start after installing new alternator. Seems to have charged batteries once it was driven home total of about 30 miles. Noticed that the voltage gauge does not show the same voltage charging level as the OEM alternator did. Maybe something I will have to get use to. Shut off truck and re-cranked the truck with no problem. Not sure how to tell if it puts out 130 amps. Will check battery voltage to see if the are charging and holding a charge.

It's and alternator. Proper fit and brand new. Not much more $ than the reman unit, so I went with brand new. Voltage and amp output right on spec.

Part No 92306. Its a 130 amp alternator and it mentions that i may need to do a pully swap? I'm putting it in a 94 ford explorer and just wanted to have a little more juice above the stock output. How do i know if i need to do a pully swap? Any help is appreciated.
