Tried it upside down on exhaust flare that meets manifold

Comments about CarGo Thermosteel Thermosteel 2400°F Cold Weld:

I used this to repair a crack about one inch long around the Y pipe flare section that meets the 3 bolt flange on exhaust manifold. Not easy to keep it from falling out upside down working above. Kept pushing it deep in to crack on pipe flared edge till it stayed in. Waited hours, then filled it in more level with 3 bolt flange fitting. I'll let it sit two days, then fill it more with just the quiksteel putty in tube. I first use the 2400 degree, then the 500 degree stuff putty. In pic you see I packed it full around flare pipe crack to depth of the 3 bolt flange fitting,

Keys to using product is let dry 24 hours. Also clean cracked or worn exhaust thoroughly with wire brush or Dremel tool . You can start vehicle after a few hours just to heat up area for a few minutes. This will let it cure a little better than all the heat at once. Will get you thru without that ticking or hissing.

Comments about CarGo Thermosteel Thermosteel 2400°F Cold Weld:

The manifold of my Honda Civic had cracked. Got quotes of replacements from used for $200 to new for $700. I found this product and decided to give it a shot before committing to a bigger purchase. I followed the instructions carefully, applied the product and let it cure as directed. Then I started the engine and the crack had been sealed. The product had adhered perfectly to the metal. It has already been a week and it all looks good. The product is perfectly solid. I will keep you posted about future development.

Comments about CarGo Thermosteel Thermosteel 2400°F Cold Weld:

Bought this product as a stopgap measure to re-attach an upper heat stove on my small block Chevy exhaust manifold. The upper heat stove on the manifold fell off, I used this to put it back on and it really worked well! I used this product until I get the time to actually take the manifolds off, have them blasted, drill the studs that actually hold the stove on, and have the manifolds coated. I cleaned the rust off the manifold, cleaned the back of the heat stove, and followed the product instructions. So far it is working very well. As a side note I originally used high heat JB weld for this repair, and when I tried to attach the pre heater hose to the stove, it fell off the manifold. This is a great product, and worked for me, highly recommended!

Hi Shamrock! Since you didn't mention the specific vehicle, it's hard to tell for sure. To give you the correct information I would need the year, make, model and engine size of the vehicle.
