Used this stuff to repair a plastic bumper cover for a Subaru Legacy SW. I had to fill two holes. One was about the size of a golf ball, and the other the size of a quarter. I removed the bumper cover off the car, and used pro gaff cloth duct tape on the inside to back up the Quicksteel putty. It helps to have slightly wet hands when kneading the Quiksteel. Once it feels warm, it needs to be spread and smoothed out within a minute before it starts to harden. It can be sanded down in about one hour.

I highly recommend this, just work fast once it gets warm.

IMHO, the instructions provided with product are too brief. Blue Magic's website has a pdf with very detailed instructions and tips to use correctly to achieve effective results. For example, the surface must be totally, Totally, TOTALLY clean (free of oil, etc.) and roughened...the pdf stresses that need.. Also, the mixed putty has poor initial adhesion to surfaces...so the mixed putty will stick to your hands better than it does to the surface, so as you work the putty it will move off of the spot which you want to cover. When working in a tight spot that causes frustrations and a lot of swearing. I still do not know the best temperature range to apply Quick Steel (is it +40 to +100 degrees F for best application range). Blue Magic doesn't have the information? I was working in high 30s and this product seem to have a very difficult time adhering to metal pipe (Automatic Transmission Fluid cooling line). Blue Magic doesn't give best application range temperature. Maybe my pipe wasn't totally clean..I used lacquer thinner to clean it. So I used TB Weld ... it worked worked well at the high ambient 30 degree temperature and on the pipe ....but JB Weld takes a long time to cure. I would recommend Quick Steel with reservations.

Comments about CarGo Quiksteel Epoxy Putty:

Quiksteel has been a toolbox staple for about 15 years. I've found it to be superior to JB Weld and any competing products. I've used it to repair leaking radiators both in the plastic and in fins. It sets up even when wet and can withstand temps of 500f. I recently used it to repair a crack in the plastic on a radiator. I used a rotary tool to cut out the crack. Smoothed around the outer area and then packed in about a half a tube of Quiksteel epoxy. It cures in 1 hr but I didn't need car so I let cure for 24 hr. So far after driving the car about 80 miles it remains intact. The area around the radiator has dried and leak has been stopped. I expect I'll eventually have to replace the radiator but I'm curious just how long Quiksteel can last.

This is one of the greatest products of it's kind. works exactly as stated, bonds to flat steel surfaces easily, and molds exactly as needed. Only have to use what you need. Ran out and found a tube that was half used and more than a year old, worked just as good as when I purchased it new. Going to go get a couple more tubes now.
