      • Q:

Is this what I would need to engage the 4 wheel drive in my 2001 Ford ranger? It will not engage, and the light does not even come on?

          A:

Hi Jan, glad to help you! The transfer case motor should be the possible cause of the problem on your Ford ranger. However, there could be many reason causing this. This really may need a mechanic’s expertise to determine. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

          A:

Yes, this Cardone Transfer Case Motor fits your Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4x4 (2001). The momentary malfunction of high/low light is associated with the transfer case and replacing this part would rectify the issue.
