Q:how do I know if I have soft ride susp on my 2002 impala.
A:Without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. It is suggested to take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis and installation.
A:In the trunk, on the lid is a sticker that is the replacement part designator. It lists the replacement codes for parts on your auto. For my 2003 impala it is FE2(soft Ride) For the others it is FE2(sport) and FE3(off road. Just look for the FE code there is no other FE codes - there will only be one.
