    where is this part located on my 1992 pontiac bonneville?..do i have to take it to a technician to reprogram it?...how much do you think that costs roughly to have done?

      The Engine Computer should be located behind the glove box. You can also access it by removing the panel under the dash below the glovebox. Yes, you have to take this Cardone Remanufactured Powertrain Control Module(Part No. 77-1470) for flash programming.     when I hook up my snapon scanner the dash says error 00 and the computer says it cant communicate with ecm would this part fix it and do i need to put my own prom in it

      Yes, it might be the problem and you need to use your PROM with this ECM.

    My car will be running fine and then all of a sudden shut off and then not want to start, will changing the ECM take care of this? I have changed all of the other sensors that I can think of. Do you have any other ideas if changing the ECM will not work?

      Yes, if your ECM is bad then the car won't start, your fuel pump won't work, basically everything shuts down.
