Comments about Cardone Power Steering Pump w/Reservoir - Domestic:

I bought this product for my truck anticipating a one time change out and being done. From the time of original purchase to time of writing this review i have installed three pumps and am due to change this one all in a week and a halves time. The first pumps pressure line b-nut's o-ring blew out on it after a week, the second one I installed stopped working after less than 24 hours and the third one that is currently installed is leaking from the seal where the reservoir meets the pump.

Comments about Cardone Power Steering Pump w/Reservoir - Domestic:

The power steering pump was installed and started making noise the same day. It is a lot of trouble to replace to get a bad one and have to do it again. I followed the instructions and installed it correctly ,but still had a problem with the product. I will be returning this one and trying another one soon hopefully with better luck on the next. The product did fit my application good. I think it was a remanufactured unit thou.I normally do not buy the remanufactured products and I guess this is why.

                A:

Instructions: 1. Open the vehicle's hood and locate the hole on the upper driver's side of the engine in front of the power steering pump. This is where the power steering pump pulley securing bolt needs to be installed. 2. Slide a washer onto the power steering pump pulley bolt. Slide the power steering pump pulley bolt into the hole in the middle of the pulley. Place another washer onto the securing bolt once you have inserted the bolt through the hole in the middle of the pulley. 3. Insert the securing bolt into the corresponding hole on the engine where the power steering pump pulley needs to be placed. Twist the securing bolt in a clockwise motion until it is tight and can no longer be twisted into the engine. 4. Locate the correct size socket for the securing bolt in the socket set. Connect the socket to the ratchet. Squeeze the power steering pump pulley with one of your hands to keep it from moving while you tighten the pulley's securing bolt. 5. Tighten the power steering pump pulley's securing bolt using the ratchet and socket.

You need a puller. Advance has them with free rental. Puller set is also a press to put it back on.
