Comments about Cardone Power Steering Pump w/o Reservoir - Domestic:

Part was used to replace OEM PS pump on 02 Explorer with 200,000 miles. Steering rack failed so I changed the pump as a preventive measure and because of age and high mileage. Rebuilt pump had good fit and finish, minimal end play in shaft, is now working properly on the vehicle.
Questionable: Don't really know what company rebuilt this pump, had two different names on box labels, I think it was re-boxed at some point but still has a good warranty.

Comments about Cardone Power Steering Pump w/o Reservoir - Domestic:

Perfect fit/match for 2002 Explorer XLT. Came packaged with the needed single-use teflon ring for connecting the power steering pressure line, along with some instructions and such. Well packaged - came pumped full of some type of oil and sealed up with plugs at inlet and outlet. I drained out this stuff before installing. Notes: Instructions said to hand-prime the pump before finalizing all connections and running engine, so connect the inlet side first, fill the power steering reservoir, and then turn the pump by hand before you re-connect the pressure line. Also - much easier on Explorer if you re-connect the pump inlet hose before you bolt the pump in place. Pay careful attention to the orientation of the clamp on the inlet hose so you can reach it to tighten once the pump mounting bolts are installed. Happy with this so far - quiet, smooth operation and no leaks.

Comments about Cardone Power Steering Pump w/o Reservoir - Domestic:

Installed the new pump. No pressure. You can imagine my face after going through the trouble of installing a new pump & finding out it had no pressure. By the way these pumps don't have the drive pulley installed you have to move the pulley from the old pump & install it on the new one. I was working on a Ford Explorer 2001.

Comments about Cardone Power Steering Pump w/o Reservoir - Domestic:

      First issue:
Needed one with a flange for the power steering pulley, couldnt get the flange off the original, this isn't the fault of the rebuilder but some notice should have been given since other rebuilders include flange.

      Second issue:
Low pressure return fitting was too big and turned the wrong way to fit in the same space as the original, clearly not OEM specs (at least not for a V6 Ford Mustang.

All that aside it did look like a quality re-build.
