Check Vehicle Fit

A1 CARDONE Remanufactured Steering Gears are the component within a car’s steering system that guides the wheel’s movement in conjunction with the direction that the steering wheel is rotated, helping achieve ideal steering response for more efficient driving. The micro-finished surfaces of it's shafts are precision-designed to provide a smoother drive, while the factory-set Pitman shaft transmits the motion it receives from the gear box by moving the wheels left or right to turn the wheels. OEM grade O-rings and seals are used and meet required specifications, providing you a quality product both you and your vehicle can rely on.

Product Features:
  • 100% computerized hydraulic testing measures for proper flow, leakage and performance to ensure perfect fit and function
  • 100% new O-rings and lip seals ensure no leaking and long-lasting performance
  • All critical components (campacs, spool valves, etc.) are triple-tested to ensure product reliability
  • Units are supplied with 100% tested and calibrated pressure relief valves for guaranteed performance
  • Shafts are surfaced to precise specifications to eliminate premature seal wear and extend gear life
  • Rust inhibitive "Cool Dip" finish is a penetrating dye that completely covers all exposed surfaces for a consistent, protective finish that will not crack, flake or peel
  • Guaranteed fit and function
  • Meets or exceeds O.E.M. performance

My 2002 f250 drives so much better now

Comments about Cardone Power Steering Gear - Domestic:

Fit in my 2002 f250 7.3L powerstroke super duty. Fairly simple to install. Had a hard time getting the steering wheel shaft back on because of excess paint on the splines other then that it was straightforward. Downfall is it doesn't come with pitman arm nut or washer so you have to use the old. Other then that can't beat the price and the unit works as it should

        A:

Hi Red! I do not have any way of looking up with OE part number. I can only look them up by a vehicle. If you can tell me your vehicle's year, make, and model, I can suggest parts available for that vehicle.

        A:

Hi Rav, glad to assist you! This part comes with a limited lifetime replacement warranty. The limited lifetime warranty part can be refunded for cash/credit within the 90 days time frame. After that time expires, it can only be exchanged for a new item. So the warranty is valid for the life of the part as long as the customer owns the vehicle.

How to remove steering box from steering shaft?

        A:

With reference to this Fenco Steering Gear Box - part# SG17569 for removing the steering box from steering shaft, pop the hood and locate the steering shaft on the driver's side of the engine compartment. At the base of the steering shaft by the steering box is a jam bolt that locks the shaft onto the steering box. Unbolt it using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and pull it off of the box. Lift up the front of the vehicle using the jack and secure it on jack stands. Make sure the vehicle is completely secure on the jack stands before you crawl underneath it.Unbolt the pitman arm from the steering box using an open-end wrench. Place the pitman arm puller tool on the pitman arm. You want the point of the tool on the splined shaft of the steering box and the arms of the puller around the base of the pitman arm. Tighten the tool until the pitman arm pops off of the steering box. Unbolt the steering box from the frame using a 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and an open-end wrench. Pull the box out from under the car and away from the vehicle.
