This was an exact replacement for the original part. After installation, the fault codes generated by the old part did not reappear.

Comments about Cardone Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) - Remanufactured:

I have a 1998 Chevy Tahoe 4WD, 5.7 liter. This vehicle had sat for two years before I got a hold of it. Originally, as long as the Mass Airflow Sensor was connected, the engine would idle up and down between 750 and 2000 RPM. Occasionally it would go as low as 500 RPM, and once in a while it would stall. When going down the road it's perfect. When stopped at a light or stop sign, it keeps surging and tries to go forward while the brake is depressed.

Computer code confirmed that MAF was bad. Tried cleaning it twice, but no luck. As long as the sensor was unplugged the vehicle ran great, although perhaps rich with gas, and hot without the sensor's input. Replaced it with this remanufactured MAF (very easy to install), and plugged it back in. Advance Auto Parts employees were very nice and easily let me use their code checker to clear the computer codes. Tahoe still runs the exact same way with the sensor plugged in. Ran it this way for a week or more, but I've unplugged it for now because it's unbearable.
