Comments about Cardone Distributor {Point Type} - Domestic Reman:

The distributor housing had minor differences - different bends and folds - from the original one on my '64 Comet 260V8. Looking at the part number of the rebuilt distributor I saw it was made in 1969. In the end, the differences had no effect on performance. But they did make it a little harder to install the part correctly since during installation you must line it up the same as the original one, using housing references. Otherwise, everything went well and my car runs beautifully with this remanufactured distributor.

Comments about Cardone Distributor {Point Type} - Domestic Reman:

My '69 Mustang had a lot of ground issues around the rusty cruddy breaker plates and also worn out curve springs etc. Replaced it with a completely new Cardone unit and it was perfect. Starts every time and very precise timing. Also pulled the points and replaced with Pertronix Ignitor 1281 Electronic conversion kit. Fit just fine but did have to replace one of the mounting screws with a longer one. Other than that, it is perfect!

This unit came with points and condensor all set up. I dropped it in, wired it up and it worked perfectly.

I bought mine to install in my 1967 Mustang. It had all the correct markings for a "original" restoration.

My distributor was simply worn out. I looked at the cost and time rebuilding my unit vs replacing with the remanufactured unit and it was a no brainer!

                    A:

Distributors-all have a cast aluminum body and are unpainted. The caps are black in color. The ‘60-’64 144/170 had a ¼ inch allen style hole in the base of the shaft to accept the oil pump drive shaft.
