  • Q:

I have the cheap blue washer fluid in my resorvior, and it has froze will not squirt anything out. If i put in the prestone de-icer in my resorvior will that thaw it out.
Asked on 1/24/2014 by Mary from southgate, mi

I'm happy to help, Mary! The de-icer washer fluid should help to break it down and may lower the freezing temperature of the fluid already in the reservoir. If the tank is pretty full it may not be able to do much good.

  • Q:

How much of this do you add to 1 gallon of washer solvent?
I also saw AS240, and AS250 for do they differ?
Asked on 10/14/2012 by Mark Rieser from Naperville IL

    1 answer

Use this Prestone De-Icer Windshield Washer Fluid with Dirt Blocker® - part# AS250 at full strength. Add directly to washer fluid resevoir. Make sure to wash exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after each use. Sorry we do not find any Prestone items with part# AS240. If you are referring to the Prestone Windshield De-Icer with Scraper - part# AS242, then the differences are part# AS250 is a windshield washer fluid while the part# AS242 has to be sprayed for removing ice from windshield. Turn on car and start defrosters. Spray Prestone Windshield De-Icer on frosted or iced area. Wait a few seconds. Operate windshield wipers to clean windshield, remove loose ice with scraper. DO NOT USE ON PLASTIC WINDOWS. DO NOT INVERT CAN WHILE SPRAYING. For any further assistance, please visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.
