      • Q:

I ran out of windshield washer fluid and only had this in my trunk so used it as an emergency. Is this going to ruin my washer fluid tank / is it temporarily safe to use as washer fluid or do I need to completely drain my tank?
Asked on 2/23/2016 by Andy from Lincoln, RI

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Hi Andy, glad to help you! It is not recommended to add antifreeze instead of the washer fluid. It will smear the window and smell bad. I would suggest that you remove the washer fluid tank and flush the system to refill with the recommended washer fluid.

I'm happy to help, Ron! While this Splash RV & Marine Antifreeze (Part No. 619526) is environmentally friendly and safe for incidental contact with people, pets and wildlife, it should not be drained into your lawn. This product should still be recovered and properly disposed.

Is the Rv& Marine Antifreeze compatible with a v8 intech enginge ?
Asked on 3/30/2015 by Corey from Waterloo, Ia

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Hi Corey! The label on the bottle says only that the product is formulated for winterizing all types of potable (drinking) water plumbing systems. This product can be used full-strength to winterize boats, recreational vehicles, trailers, vacation homes, swimming pools, and a variety of other winter storage applications. It says nothing about winterizing engines.

      • Q:

I will rephrase my question. Is the Marine pink Splash product recommended and guarantied to protect
All pipes and plumbing in an unheated home through an Illinois winter. I suffered a house fire last Sept.
And the contractor used this product to winterized my home. There are now pipes that have burst in the
Walls and various leaking faucets. What is your answer? And what do you recommend I do now?

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

I'm happy to help, House Fire! This Splash RV & Marine Antifreeze (Part No. 619526) is designed for use with recreational vehicles, boats, spas, pools and vacation homes. I was unable to locate any guarantee from Splash that this product is intended to protect all pipes and plumbing in an unheated Illinois home in winter. I suggest speaking with the contractor that did the work on your home in regard to any guarantee that was made against burst pipes. In a typical residential system, it would be difficult to add this into the home's plumbing.

Splash can be contacted in regards to the capability of the product in a residential application here: http://www.splashwash.com/contact/ or (888) 784-0802.

          A:

I'm happy to help, Chunky! Splash RV & Marine Antifreeze (Part No. 619526) is not intended for use as an automotive coolant. It's intended for use with recreational vehicles, boats, spas, pools, and vacation homes. Your 1998 Ford Taurus SE 3.0L V6 came with conventional green coolant, such as Peak Conventional Green Antifreeze/Coolant (Part No. PKA0G3/12016), or an orange coolant meeting Ford specification WSS-M97B44-D or equivalent. This specification is met by most Dex-Cool coolants, such as Advance Auto Parts Cool Antifreeze/Coolant (Part No. A131).

Can I use this in an outdoor garden fountain. Problem is.....my dog always drinks from the fountain. Is it dangerous if a pet digests this ?
Asked on 1/8/2015 by Scott from United States

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Hi Scott, it's actually a serious question! The RV antifreeze is generally regarded as safe, I would be concerned with the quantity your dog would ingest. If this fountain is running all the time you in a moderate climate you may not have to winterize it. In real cold climates it is recommended that you would shut off the water supply and run antifreeze through the fountain to winterize it.

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

I'm glad to assist, Bill! Splash indicates that this RV & Marine Antifreeze is safe for use in pools and spas. All of the ingredients are generally recognized as safe by the FDA, with the primary ingredient of propylene glycol being much safer than ethylene glycol-based products.

Splash does make a Pool Antifreeze as well and the ingredients are the same, in different proportions. Here is a link the the RV & Marine Antifreeze MSDS where you can see the ingredients and proportions: http://www.splashwash.com/index.php/download_file/189/222/
