    1996 Chevy Lumina... When the engine warms up the trans locks in like it is a manual transmission. Would this part be the cause of the problem? And is it located in the lower left corner of Transmission side cover pan?

      Hi MeticulousMike, happy to assist you! The shift solenoids are located in the valve body behind the side cover. They are normally diagnosed by scan data and codes.

      Replacing the transmission control solenoid on your 1998 Pontiac Grand AM GT depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part. Some may have a harder time than others who have experience. I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle.       Some radiators have a section for cooling the transmission fluid. Your transmission fluid may be burnt or low. So the first thing to be done is to check the transmission fluid level and that the transmission cooler is hooked up correctly.

    I HAVE A 92 PONT. GRAN AM AND I AM HUNTING A LOCKOUT MODEULE FOR MY AUTO TRANSMISSION. WHEN THE CAR COMES TO A STOP IT DIES THEN WHEN PUSHED JUST A LITTLE SPEED YOU CAN START IT AND GO AGAIN. I WAS TOPL THIS IS WHAT I NEED IS IT?
