      Hi CB, techy question! The transmission control solenoid could possibly the problem. However, I would suggest that you to take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

      The transmission control solenoid on your 1993 Pontiac Bonneville 3.8L should be located under the center console and the fuel filter should be located under the vehicle on driver side, below seating area, near fuel tank, mounted on frame rail in fuel line.       Remove the shift lever and adjust the neutral start switch, it might be the park switch working instead of reverse switch.
