My 1993 Suburban was having stalling problems and I was able to trouble shoot the IAC valve as the cause. I also changed the TPS with the BWD aftermarket part and the truck runs great. I will have to see how well these parts hold up but they all appear to be well made.

Hi Mark, my answer to your question on the BWD Throttle Position Sensor - part# EC3310P is that the fit and function remains the same for both part# EC3310 and part# EC3310P. The only difference is part# EC3310 is an exact O.E (Original Equipment) replacement while part# EC3310P matches the original, designed with the professional installer in mind. P-Series product competes with the OE and dealerships.

7.4L 454 TBI running rich puts out alot of carbon idles not good, changed plugs, cap/rotor, coil, temp sensor, module, IAC, down to Map sensor or TPS??? Probably go ahead and change both today but if I still have an issue where should I look from there, spray pattern seems good from injectors just not burning fuel properly.

With reference to this BWD Throttle Position Sensor - part# EC3310P, the throttle position sensor and or even the idle air control valve may be the possible cause of the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For any further assistance, you may also visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.

Have you tried the MAP sensor? One way i have cured this is: Turn key OFF for 30 seconds. Push accelerator COMPLETELY to floor, hold it there. Turn key on, but do NOT start. Continue holding to floor for 30 seconds. Let foot off. Turn key off. Then try to start.

The TPS is located right on top of engine, next to fuel injector or carburetor, on passenger side. Usually has a wiring harness coming off the top if it.

A throttle position sensor (TPS) is a sensor used to monitor the position of the throttle. The ignition timing and fuel injection timing are altered depending upon the position of the throttle, and also depending on the rate of change of that position
