Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Throttle Position Sensor:

This is exactly what you need if you have a Manual Transmission. DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A AUTO TRANS as the clock positions are different and you will get a CEL along with rough idle. I bought an aftermarket throttlebody for my Focus ZX3 and this TPS is exactly what I needed because the TB is made for the manual tranny. The TPS for automatic trans is OEM and, besides the junkyard, is the only place you will find it.

This part is for Manual trans ONLY. It will fail on automatic cars. I have a 2001 Ford Focus SE DOHC and this part did NOT work. It will cause an engine sputter and erratic shifting. For auto trans cars you need to replace the entire Throttle Body (which Ford issued new part numbers for) and move to the newer pigtail connection. The Cardone reman'ed TB that AAP carries should would and includes the TPS.

In order to be more helpful in response to your question, we need specific information about your vehicle make, model, year and engine size. If you happen to be near an Advance Auto Parts store you can visit the store, or contact us at 1-877-ADVANCE. Then we can help you find the right part to fit your vehicle.

              1. Remove the connector from the air flow sensor
              2. Remove the intake tube between the air filter & the throttle body.
              3. Remove the connector and two screws on the TPS and then place the new sensor in place.

Very easy to change. The only tools that should be needed is a flat head and a Phillips head screwdriver. Hope this helps.
