  • In manufacture, we custom form the wax pellets for different temperature range specifications. All units are calibrated & tested to confirm switch actuation at their specified temperature
  • The switch is designed using a formed bimetallic contact arm. The bimetal contact movement is achieved using the different expansion rates of two metals fused together. This is a creep action device, provides precise performance
  • In production, all thermal switches are factory-calibrated to make electrical contact at the specified lower-temperature set point
  • Our switches feature a robust design with high grade materials to meet the stringent demands of today's service professional

Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Temperature Sender With Gauge:

Pic clearly shows 5 ears on connector, as it should for 2000 f350 7.3 - however, part in box has only 2 ears and will not connect to wire harness. Store checked inventory at other stores - same thing. Incompatible is one thing but not matching picture doesn't

I have looked where it is "supposed" to be. I still can't find it. Can you narrow down my search a little. I've spent hours out there in the cold looking.

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

The coolant temperature sensor is usually located on the intake manifold or the water inlet to the engine. This is usually close to or in the thermostat housing, which is at the end of the hose coming from the radiator. The sensor tells the ecu if the engine is cold and has not been warmed up.

Has a 2000 Ford Expedition both a cylinder head sensor and a coolant sensor
Asked on 9/26/2011 by Bob from Pompano Beach

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

Yes, it has both the sensors. If it is a 5.4l engine the Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor should be located behind the alternator tucked up just under the intake manifold to the right and the coolant temperature sensor should be located on right side between the alternator and the top radiator hose / thermostat housing.

        • Q:

i've previously parchased two of these sensors without luck i suppose i've been sold the wrong part number each time. Gauge still reads nothing. i can ground out the plug ang have the gauge go all the way to the hot side so i'm confident that its the sensor. Please verify this is for a 2001 ford super duty 7.3 diesel engine.
