Comments about BWD Select Ignition Coil:

I NEEDED THREE IGNITION COILS THAT I HAD TO REPLACE ON MY CAR, AND ADVANCED AUTOS WAS THE ONE WITH THE MOST REASONABLE PRICES, FOR A GREAT PRODUCT. THE PRODUCT MADE THE PERFORMANCE WITHIN MY CAR RUN BETTER. WITHOUT THESE COILS MY CAR RAN BAD AND I APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT I COULD PURCHASE THESE PRODUCTS FROM ADVANCED AND BE ABLE TO AFFORD THEM. THERE AREN'T AND BAD THINGS THAT I CAN RELATE TO THAT PERTAIN TO THE PRODUCT THAT I PURCHASED NOR FROM THE USAGE THAT PERTAINS TO THIS PRODUCT.

Comments about BWD Select Ignition Coil:

We all know gm can be cruddy but, they did make a good spark sysetm. One of the stock coils died after 20+ years. Got this coil and It fixed it right up. the coil comes with everything you need exp new screws so take care not to lose the stock ones. It was simple and ez to install. Just make sure that you clean off the cpu mod. After that replace the rubber O rings and dab some Dielectric grease on it to keep it sealed and working for another 20 years. This coil worked like a champ. Some really cold days Like 10 below it still works great no problems with spark on start up.

Comments about BWD Select Ignition Coil:

My 99 firebird starting misfiring with some newly bought coil packs. The service engine light came on and starting blinking, so I decided it was a cheap replacement part. I looked them up on Advance and found a good looking part. I chatted with a representative and got a good discount coupon. I ordered the parts and they were available at my local store. I had no problem picking them up the next day. The installation on these coil packs on my bird is not very easy. I got them in and every thing seems to be working good.

product was easy to install but no cylinder markings. white marker is best, tape works.
original ignitor had worn supply terminals causing intermitant ignition problems.

I think that the BWD Select ignition coil works better than the original ignition coil that came with the car I drive. It runs smoother, saves more gasoline, and is just as easy,if not easier to remove and install than the original. The lifetime warranty that you recieve with this (the BWD Select) ignition coil just goes to show you the quality engineering, rigerous testing, and proud manufacturing. That BWD stands behind to bring you the performance and reliabality you rely on. a

Instructions: Take off the IDI/ICM harness connector. 2. Separate the ignition coil module assembly from the engine. 3. Uncover the housing by removing the fasteners that secure the housing cover to the housing. You can remove these with a screwdriver, wrench or ratchet and socket set. Once you have the cover off, disconnect the coil harness connector, the Grand Am ignition coil, the contacts and the seals. 4. Install the ignition coil and replace the engine components. 5. Label and disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil. 6. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the ignition coil to the ignition control module. There should be two screws per ignition coil. 7. Pull out the old ignition coil and insert the new one. 8. Reassemble the parts, using the reverse order in which you dismantled them. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.

A coils ohms(resistance) can be measured, BUT it can still misfire. This happened to me after replacing my OEM coils with Accels. After 1 year and 1k ms. I was getting a misfire, and figured it must have been the plugs 'cause I just changed the coils & wires. When I switched wires and then coil positions, the problem followed that coil, even though it measured the correct ohms.
