Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Oil Pressure Light Switch:

My oil pressure gauge was bouncing all over the place and after I installed the bwd switch everything was back to normal. Hardest part of the job was getting a socket and ratchet to fit all the way back to the position of the switch but with a couple extensions and a knuckle it was quite easy. It was the same size socket as the factory which helped. On my old ranger the switch went bad and I bought it from another store and I needed a different size socket which meant keeping track of more tools and taking up time to get a different size. If you are unfamiliar with installing a oil pressure switch make sure not to use Teflon tape and also there will be thread showing still bc the diameter of the thread increases as you tighten. If you over tighten you could cause a crack and have another huge mess to deal with.

It worked for me. My oil pressure gauge was bouncing all over the place and replacing this switch fixed it. I don't know how durable it is because I only had the vehicle for about a week. But when it was here it worked fine.

Other than price, what is the difference between the two oil pressure sensors, S4223 and S4223P, for my Mazda B4000 4.0L. The description includes "with light" for both sensors, but S4223P also has "OE style."

                      A:

I'm glad to assist you, Mike! The fit and function remains the same for both S4223 and S4223P. The only difference is S4223 will be an exact O.E (Original Equipment) replacement while S4223P matches the original, designed with the professional installer in mind. P-Series product competes with the OE and dealerships.

Hi Ford Lover, glad to serve you! This engine oil pressure switch is located down by the oil filter. To get more specific information on the location of this part I would recommend purchasing a Chilton or Haynes Repair Manual for your vehicle, not only will it show the location and also explain how to install, but you'll find it handy for many more projects on your vehicle.
