Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Oil Pressure Light Switch:

Subaru engines always seem to leak oil. This is one of the most obvious places. I replaced this sensor and now the front of my motor will stay dry.

OE replacement part like it says, very easy to install. Oil will come out when you replace the old part so be ready to put the new part in! Things can get messy real fast.

A bad fuel pump relay or a faulty electrical connections may also cause this problem. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis. There is no spec for this particular switch, but typically, these actuate at 5-10 psi. The contact is normally closed, so it will open up when pressure is above the switch point.

            A:

It indicates that the oil pump is producing pressure. In other words, it shows that the pump is picking up oil from the sump and feeding it to the rest of the engine.
