Comments about CARQUEST by BWD Oil Pressure Gauge Switch:

Advance offered the part at a very reasonable price. I found it a little cheaper elsewhere, but they actually had listed the wrong part for my make/model (1989 Dodge Dakota). This "other" store ended up sending the wrong part and I had to go through the return process.
Advance's part was the correct part for my vehicle, fit as it should and, unlike the part the dealership got from "another store", the part from Advance worked. When I installed it, my oil light and oil pressure gauge worked again. The Advance part did not have any coating or teflon on the threads which may not seal as well, but it clearly did not hinder the unit from grounding. I wonder if the thread coating on the dealership part was preventing it from grounding properly.

            A:

The unit will be found very close to the oil filter. On the older cars, the sender will be a small round unit about 1½ inches in width. On later models, it will still be round but will have a black 1 ½-inch-long cylinder extending out with a two-wire connector.

The above answer is wrong. Mopar small block V8s 318 and 360, etc. have the oil pressure sender on the top rear of the block in front of the bell housing. (Right beside the distributer)
