This part was for a my daughter's 2002 Honda CIVIC LX. The air quit working one day. So I checked the usual fuses and other relative easy checks. No luck. So I searched on line for common problems. If there is a common problem someone has posted on how to fix it. One common problem was this motor resistor. One way to check it is to solder a bridge across the thermistor to bypass it. Sure enough that was the problem. Everything worked as it should. So I ordered the part and replaced it the next day. Some people just leave in the bypass or solder in a 1 Ohm resistor. I was not willing to chance it and the part was not to expensive and was easy to get to so it was replaced.

AC went out in my Honda. Every website said this was probably the part I needed. Replaced the original with this part and AC still didn't work. Tried the replacing the blower motor, the relay, etc. No luck. Gave up and took it to the dealer. Dealer said I had the right part but it was defective. Figures, it was made in China. That [$] part ended up costing me $250 and an entire day wasted trouble-shooting. Advanced, consider a new supplier for your after-market parts.

Every website claims that this is the cheapest available resistor for a 2002-05 Civic Si hatchback. It is entirely too large. The one you need is the one with the staggered fins that is over $120.

AC quit working, no compressor. All indications online pointed to this part. Decided to take on as a DIY project. Some dash panels needed to be removed for access and a right angle screw driver was mandatory. Replaced it, wire it up, put the panels back together and the AC worked!

Comments about BWD/Intermotor Blower Motor Resistor:

After researching my problem online - CRV blower not working, many solutions pointed to this part. Some suggested tearing the old one apart and replacing diodes but I like to work from a "time value of effort" perspective. I ordered the part online, got my discount, and went and picked it up - as easy as all the times before. I took a chance and it worked out. For this repair, I did have to make one extra purchase - a set or right angle screwdrivers. The relief area where the screws are is too short even for a stubby screwdriver (you'll need a Phillips). Otherwise, it pops right out/in, reconnect the wires and the AC is blowing cold again! Now I need to replace the cabin air filters.

Blower quit in our Honda CRV. After checking fuses and internet this was the best option to try. Excellent Service and easy to use Website for Advance Auto. Installation required very short screwdriver on one side and some patience but it worked like a champ and saved hundreds by doing it myself over dealer.
